How to deliver files from Dropbox
Connect your Dropbox account
Sign in to SentIt and open Connections. Choose Connect account for Dropbox and approve the requested access. Return to your delivery to choose files from the connected account.
Choose files or a folder
Choose Dropbox in the delivery editor. Browse or search for files, or select a whole folder. Review the files found inside it, including subfolders, and any skipped-file reasons. Remove anything you do not want, then choose Add selected files.
Assemble the handoff
Mix the Dropbox selection with local uploads or Google Drive files. Add a title, a note explaining the contents and an expiry date. A delivery can contain up to 100 files across all sources.
Publish and share
Publish the delivery and copy its link. Clients can preview supported files and download originals without a Dropbox or SentIt account. Try the recipient link yourself before sending it to a client.
What access you grant
SentIt can read filenames, file details and contents across your Dropbox so you can browse and select existing files. It does not request permission to edit files or change sharing settings. Files stay in Dropbox, and SentIt uses your connection to deliver them.
What happens when a source changes
Clients receive the version you selected. Editing a Dropbox file or adding files to its folder does not update the delivery. Remove the old attachment and add the new version; your delivery link stays the same. Dropbox must still make the selected version available for downloads.
Questions before you send
Can I send an entire Dropbox folder?
Yes. Select a folder and review the eligible nested files before adding them. Empty folders add no files, non-downloadable entries are skipped and the 100-file delivery limit applies. This is a selection at that moment, not ongoing folder synchronization.
Will my clients need a Dropbox account?
No. They open the active SentIt delivery link. Anyone with that URL can access the delivery; links are unlisted and do not have passwords.
Does attaching a file use my SentIt storage?
Dropbox attachments do not use your SentIt storage or daily upload allowance. Downloading connected files, opening full-file previews and creating ZIPs use the daily transfer allowance. Your own Dropbox storage and source access still matter.
What happens if I disconnect Dropbox?
Existing Dropbox references become unavailable. Disconnecting removes SentIt’s stored credentials but does not revoke app access in Dropbox; you can do that in Dropbox account settings. Reconnect and re-add files to make a new usable selection. Transfers already in progress may finish.
What if a file is unavailable?
Check whether the saved revision still exists and the account still has access. If authorization has expired or been revoked, reconnect from Connections and re-add the file. Contact SentIt support if the problem persists.
Will your delivery fit?
- Files from your computer
- 1 GB per file and 1 GB storage on Free. 5 GB per file and 50 GB storage on Premium.
- Files in Dropbox or Drive
- Stay with their provider and use none of your SentIt upload storage. The upload size caps above do not apply; each download must fit your remaining daily allowance.
- Daily download allowance
- 100 GB daily on Free; 2 TB on Premium shared across deliveries. Downloads of connected files, full-file previews and files read to create ZIPs count toward this allowance.
- Files and ZIPs
- A delivery holds up to 100 files. Download all creates a ZIP for packages up to 4 GB, subject to the daily ZIP allowance. Download larger packages file by file. ZIP downloads also count toward your transfer allowance.
For example, one complete download of a 10 GB connected file uses 10 GB of your daily allowance. Full-file previews and ZIP creation also count.
Free links last up to 7 days. Premium defaults to 30 days and can use a future date or no scheduled expiry. Keep uploaded files in your account and connected files accessible at their provider.
Anyone with the link can access the files until it expires or you remove access. No passwords or recipient authentication.
Upload and download request limits
You can upload 2 GB from your computer per day on Free or 50 GB on Premium, within your storage allowance. Free allows 25 download requests per file per UTC day. Premium has no daily per-file cap, subject to fair use. Daily allowances reset at midnight UTC.
